Munich Re's Grimm: 2024 losses may spur interest in state-backed cat schemes

Costly natural disasters in 2024 may lead to more conversations around the creation of state-backed nat cat schemes to help boost insurance penetration, particularly in regions that experienced new weather perils last year, Munich Re’s chief climate scientist Tobias Grimm has suggested.
