The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF), a non-profit, raised over $1.4mn at its 18th annual Northeast benefit event in New York, attended by 600 people.

The IICF recognized Aon with the "Double I" award for influence in the industry and impact in the community. Aon donates over $10mn to charitable organisations in the communities where Aon team members work, including disaster relief programs supporting the American Red Cross, and small grants programs focused on service projects.

Christine Williams, Northeast region leader at Aon, accepted the award.

“Aon is honored to be recognised with the IICF Double I award and have this opportunity to highlight philanthropic collaboration across the industry in support of our communities in need,” Williams said.

“Our industry is rooted in giving back and philanthropy is an integral component of our company culture and our workplace, and we encourage our employees to pursue their philanthropic passions.”

Proceeds from the benefit typically go to organisations supporting education and the environment. Since its founding, the IICF’s Northeast Division has awarded $13mn in grants since its founding in 2007 to over 350 nonprofits and charities across the northeast.

Proceeds from the 2024 benefit will go to 180 Turning Lives Around; America’s Grow-a-Row; Covenant House NY; East Side House; Friends of Karen; Fulfill; Guiding Eyes for the Blind; Interval House; Mount Kisco Child Care Center; Ollie’s Orchestra; Our Military Kids; Reading Partners; Strongpoint Theinert Ranch, and Women Rising.
