Reinsurance main drag on Hiscox 33’s 2019 loss

Hiscox’s flagship Syndicate 33 has revealed that significant losses in its reinsurance, property and casualty divisions were behind its loss-making 2019 year of account, with an overall loss of $24.9mn compared to a profit of $132mn in 2018.
