Northeast US severe storms and flooding generate secondary-peril pain point for industry

The (re)insurance industry may face another heavy secondary-peril hit after intense rainstorms hit swathes of Vermont and other Northeastern US states earlier this week, with economic losses across the region totalling $3bn to $5bn according to a preliminary estimate from AccuWeather.
