Liberty Mutual’s Q2 CR worsens to 105% on elevated private passenger auto severity

Liberty Mutual has reported a 6.9 percentage point deterioration in its second quarter combined ratio to 105.0 percent, reflecting elevated severity in private passenger auto, while the insurer’s pre-tax operating income dropped sharply to $206mn.
