IBC urges Canadian government action as (re)insurers reel from C$7.7bn cat hit

Canada’s government has been urged to act in response to the country’s changing climate following what has been “a devastating summer” for hundreds of thousands of people, as the insurance industry reels from an already record-breaking C$7.7bn catastrophe loss total in 2024.
