Global cat losses reach $112bn in 2021: Swiss Re Sigma
Extreme weather events in 2021 – including a deep freeze, floods, severe thunderstorms, heatwaves and a major hurricane – resulted in annual insured losses from natural catastrophes of $105bn, according to Swiss Re Institute’s preliminary Sigma estimates.
