Direct Line swings to FY 2022 loss as claims inflation bites

Direct Line Group (DLG) saw its combined ratio deteriorate by 16.3 percentage points to 105.8 percent in 2022 as a combination of heightened claims inflation and larger-than-expected weather-related losses sent profits tumbling.
