Axa expects Hurricane Ian claims to push the company’s 2022 catastrophe losses above its annual cat load, according to group CFO Alban de Mailly Nesle, who stressed that the insurer should be able to mitigate any earnings impact through improved investment returns as well as reduced frequency in the fourth quarter.
