AM Best highlights “sound” strategic rationale of RenRe’s Validus Re deal

AM Best has said the credit ratings of RenaissanceRe Holdings and its affiliated entities are unchanged following its agreed deal to buy Validus Re for around $3.0bn from AIG, noting the acquisition will “immediately enhance” the reinsurer’s already strong market position in the business lines it writes.
