S&P: UK’s Solvency II reforms will bolster insurer business positions

Britain’s proposed changes to the EU’s Solvency II capital rules will likely have a “neutral” impact on the creditworthiness of rated insurers in the UK, according to S&P Global Ratings, with the rating agency forecasting the majority of firms will broadly maintain their capital positions.
