HCI cuts Ian gross loss estimate by 15%
HCI has cut its Hurricane Ian gross loss estimate by 15 percent to around $825mn, with the carrier’s management optimistic that Florida homeowners insurance reforms will reduce the number of lawsuits by 30 percent, with a similar percentage expected to be trimmed from its claims costs for loss events.
