Gallagher Re: SCS events drive $22bn Q1 nat cat losses 38% higher than decadal average
Gallagher Re has estimated first quarter total economic losses worldwide for all natural hazards at $77bn – the highest Q1 total since 2011 – with public and private insurance entities covering at least $22bn of that total, including $10bn from severe convective storms (SCS).
