Florida legislature outlines plans for $1bn reinsurance fund ahead of special session

The legislation to be discussed during Florida’s special session on insurance would make wide-ranging changes including creating a $1bn reinsurance fund, consolidating Citizens’ accounts, removing one-way attorney fees and prohibiting policyholders from assigning post-loss insurance benefits.
