Direct Line admits to being too “optimistic” about inflation hit
Direct Line Group’s acting CEO Jon Greenwood has admitted the UK insurer was too “optimistic” about the impact of inflation on its operations and had failed to react quickly enough with premium increases, as it reported a collapse in annual operating profits after what it called “a tough year”.
