Brown & Riding takes Dauth from Breckenridge
Brown & Riding has hired transportation program specialist Michael Dauth and his team from MGA platform Breckenridge Insurance Services in a move that will also see the US wholesale broker open a Houston office, The Insurer can reveal.
The Houston, Texas-based executive joins the independent privately held firm as a senior vice president.
He was at Breckenridge for just under five years as a property and inland marine broker and was previously national director at eXtreme Truck Warranty.
Dauth was at CRC for eight years after moving over to the BB&T Insurance Holdings subsidiary from Swett & Crawford in 2003.
Market sources said the executive has brought a small team of around five employees to Brown & Riding with him.
At Breckenridge he focussed on dealer’s open lot insurance, an area that has been challenged in recent years as a result of elevated cat losses.
Sources said it is likely that Brown & Riding will look to make additional team and individual hires in Houston after opening the new office.
Los Angeles, California-based Brown & Riding is 100% employee owned and managed.
