BGSU continues programs expansion with Pioneer’s Davis

Brit Global Specialty USA (BGSU) has named Scott Davis as vice president, programs underwriting, as the Lloyd’s carrier looks to bolster its programs unit in the US.

Davis will be based in Alpharetta, Georgia, and will report to Noreen Metcalfe, executive vice president, reinsurance.

He will be responsible for managing BGSU’s programs team, working to develop and expand the current portfolio of risks. Davis will also lead the underwriting team as it looks to develop new business opportunities.

Davis joins from Pioneer Underwriters, where he was head of underwriting management. Prior to this he held senior roles at Axis Insurance and American Safety Insurance Services, having started his underwriting career with AIG.

Jess Pryor, executive chairman of Brit Insurance Services USA, said the program sector is an important growth segment for BGSU.

“Scott’s underwriting experience and track record of working with MGAs will be a strong complement to our existing programs team as it continues to identify and develop niche opportunities for growth,” Pryor said.
