Alleghany’s Brandon: 2nd tier reinsurers looking to “buy their way” into casualty/PL

Alleghany president Joseph Brandon has commented that some reinsurers are looking to enter the casualty and professional liability spaces by offering higher ceding commissions, as well as noting that the Covid event cancellation claims resolution process has been much harder than expected.
