Alleghany UW profit slips 5% in Q2 while TransRe cuts property premiums 17%
Alleghany’s Q2 2022 underwriting profit fell 5 percent year on year due to modestly lower favourable development while reinsurance subsidiary TransRe grew its net written premiums (NWP) 15 percent, excluding the non-renewal of a large quota share at the end of 2021.
