Christopher Buse

Chief Underwriting Officer, Reinsurance, North America, AXA XL

Chris is AXA XL’s Chief Underwriting Officer, Reinsurance for North America and a Managing Director of AXA XL. In his role, he oversees the Casualty Treaty, Property Treaty, and Property Facultative groups and is responsible for the Canadian branch office.

Before joining NAC Re (later acquired by XL Group) as a treaty underwriter in 1989, he spent three years in the business lines underwriting department at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.

Chris holds an MBA degree in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Northwestern University.
