Citizens slashes projected Ian claims count on lower impact away from landfall

Florida’s state-backed insurer Citizens is now projecting only 100,000 claims from Hurricane Ian – well below its initial 225,000 projection – as its CEO said he expects overall industry losses to be at the lower end of a $30bn to $67bn range.
