Mapfre Re swings to 9M loss as group books €231mn Covid-19 claims
The reinsurance arm of Spanish giant Mapfre has posted a €25.3mn ($27.9mn) loss for the first nine months of the year, compared with a gross profit of €134.1mn a year ago, as a result of losses stemming from Covid-19 and Puerto Rican earthquakes.
